ALL are Welcome – friends and neighbours!
During this pandemic the local men could not meet for our usual breakfasts with guest speakers. Once the health regulations permitted 10 people to meet in our Baldwin Hall the men have been enjoying a Lug-a- Mug cafe for coffee and conversation all within the current guidelines. We meet on the 2 & 4th Mondays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. If you would like to join us please register by contacting Walter Veenstra at email@example.com
On Feb 15th 2020 twenty four men gathered at Bethel St. Andrews for a hearty breakfast and some fun fellowship. Phillip Robillard was our guest speaker and talked about Bob Smith, actor and creator of the Red/Green show which had more that four hundred episodes. With Phillip’s personal insights, some great humour, and Smith’s philosophy we learned how men can talk to their creator. Even though we all know the men’s prayer from the TV program, Phillip led us through it again as we contemplated the meaning.
The men’s prayer by Bob Smith:
I’m a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.
In September we welcomed Pat Tait, the Ottawa River Keeper who gave us a fascinating glimpse into the problems and pleasures afforded by the river which is such an important part of our environment.
The Men’s Ministry BBQ with spouses held on Aug. 19 at the home of Charles and Alexandra Cheatley on Pakenham Mountain. A good time was had by all! The food was delicious and the weather great!
