Ecumenical Consultation on Emergency Needs takes place on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at Bethel-St. Andrew’s United Church. This is an event planned by the Ecumenical Disaster Planning Committee of Fitzroy Harbour which is comprised of Walter Veenstra, Rob Roesler, Rev. Dr. Christine Johnson, Tom Jones, Father John Stopa, Hugh O’Donnell, and Father John Orban. The purpose of this meeting is to hear from those affected by the recent floods and tornado in order to better understand emergency needs and how we as faith communities can be better prepared in the future. This event is open to all with a special invitation extended to those who were directly affected by these recent disasters. The committee hopes to hear about physical, mental and spiritual needs that are front and centre during an emergency. Please pass the word on to your neighbours.
Christmas Decorations Needed! Do you have any extra Christmas Tree ornaments you’re not using? We have a large tree that’s hungry for ornaments. If so, leave them at the church for Anita D’Arcy.
Children’s Ministry – We are looking for adults to assist Mackenzie Aldis, our main Sunday School Leader. There is no planning or teaching required. The job would be to assist Mackenzie and serve as a helper. With a long enough list, we are hoping to have a rotation so that volunteers would serve about once every two months. Please sign up with Rev. Dr. Christine Johnson.
